Meta Aramid Fiber
Meta aramid fibers were first developed by the American company DuPont. In 1966, DuPont successfully produced a high-performance ortho-aromatic aramid under the name Nomex® fiber and began industrial production in 1971. Since then, other major manufacturers of aramid fibers have emerged worldwide, including Teijin (Japan), Thermoplastics Company (Russia), and Karon (South Korea). Over the past 40+ years, aramid fibers have transitioned from strategic military materials to widely used civilian materials.
Meta aramid fibers serve as the raw material for aramid paper, which finds applications in electrical insulation and construction materials, such as honeycomb cores. DuPont first produced aramid paper in the 1960s, naming it Nomex paper. Later, Yantai Metastar Special Paper introduced Metastar paper in 2007. Both companies continue to produce high-quality meta aramid paper.
We manufacture meta aramid fiber (Nomex fiber) in China. Our fibers exhibit high temperature resistance, high strength, and excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, making them suitable for extreme environments. Moreover, Chinese manufacturers can produce high-quality aramid products at competitive prices.
The fibers also possess excellent thermal stability, flame retardancy, electrical insulation, chemical stability, and radiation resistance. As a result, meta aramid fibers find applications in aerospace, dust filter bags, aluminum extrusion line felt belts, textile machinery felt, special fabrics, and temperature-resistant and heat-insulating materials, among others.
In addition, we can customize our meta aramid fibers in various specifications and colors. For detailed pricing or customization inquiries, please contact us directly.
